Young children don’t typically suffer immobility issues like adults. The neurodevelopment sequence sees that we are born with mobility, earn stability as we creep and crawl around, then get stronger as we stand, fall, stand, fall, stand, then lift and carry. However, as we progress through life, if we are not remedially working on our mobility, we lose it, movement, coordination, the ability to work (training or occupational) and ultimately health suffers, leaving us physically fragile.

Having used THE CREATURE CHALLENGE movements in various professional team sport settings and watched some of the most gifted athletes get humbled by these movements was profound. Their strength and power training in short and game specific ranges of motion, combined with stiffness, which in itself may lead to specific athletic prowess, often leaves superstars of the game prone to injury in highly reactive sporting situations. With specific training, many had lost foundational mobility and resultant movement. Hence, when training their weaknesses, training for injury prevention and whole athlete development, getting humbled by creature movements, was a frequent outcome.
